About Mohan Vadnere – A Gardener’s Notebook
Welcome to LeafyCactus.com—a little corner of the internet where plants, experiments, and stories intertwine. I’m Mohan Vadnere, an embedded software manager by profession and a self-taught gardener by heart.
My gardening journey began unexpectedly. A few years ago, I brought home a small cactus on a whim. It survived my neglect, thrived on my curiosity, and slowly pulled me into the world of soil, sunlight, and patience.
What started as a single pot on a window shelf has now grown into a thriving urban jungle—succulents, herbs, and flowering plants.
I don’t have formal training in horticulture, and that’s precisely why I write this blog. Gardening, to me, is about learning by doing. Every wilted leaf, every surprise bloom, and every failed experiment teaches me something new.
Unearth the Secrets of Cacti and Succulents with leafycactus – Your Gardening Companion!
Whether you are a seasoned gardener or a beginner with a green thumb, I am here to answer your questions, share my knowledge, and guide you on your gardening journey. Together, we will create thriving and beautiful landscapes with the enchanting world of cacti and succulents.
Why This Blog Exists?
LeafyCactus is my digital garden diary—a place to share:
- Lessons learned (often the hard way).
- Simple, practical tips for busy plant lovers.
- The joy of small victories, like a new shoot or a revived plant.
- My own gardening photos, because nothing beats seeing real progress.
This isn’t a blog about having a perfect garden. It’s about the messy, rewarding process of growing things—whether you have a balcony, a tiny terrace, or just a sunny windowsill.
Beyond the Garden
By day, I lead teams in embedded software development, solving complex technical challenges. When I’m not debugging code or digging in the dirt, I write about embedded systems, software architecture, and tech leadership on my technical blog EmbeddedFlakes.com.
Oddly enough, gardening and embedded systems have a lot in common—both require patience, problem-solving, and a willingness to experiment. One just involves more dirt under your nails!
